Yanev wants a meeting with the Prosecutor General

"I got a lot of threats and anonymous calls, including threats to stop because this is dangerous. Judges whom I respect called me to tell me that what I am doing could make the Constitutional Court stop the work of the Committee", said OLJ's leader and Chairman of the Parliamentary Inquiry Committee for investigating cases of high level corruption Yane Yanev on Monday in Parliament.

He showed a huge amount of documentation which has been declassified and, according to him, it is related to corruption in the energy sector. According to Yanev, there is evidence of serious crimes and the Prosecutor General should reopen closed files. Yanev gathered media in a secret section of the National Assembly, from where these materials can be taken. He said that, within a week, he will request a meeting with the Prosecutor General and inform him that he has been threatened. Yanev refused to name the judges, but promised that, after his meeting with the Prosecutor General, he will announce these. "One of the prosecutors, on whom I will inform Mr. Tsatsarov, has been involved in another affair, another case that reached Brussels," Yanev said. According to him, the declassified documents show various crimes. Asked to clarify, he said that the documentation shows classical influence peddling. "A minister has provided an opportunity to some Krasimir Georgiev Frontier to rule the entire country behind the scenes," said Yanev.

He added that the documentation made it clear that forged documents were submitted on behalf of companies of a very high grade and this happened during the term of three ministers - Sevlievski, Kovachev and Ovcharov. Yanev said that there are offences related to document fraud and explained that the aim was that certain persons gain commissions and rob the State.
