Only one candidate for each of the Head positions at the Specialized Court and Prosecution

There is only one candidate for each of the managing positions at the Specialized Court and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office, which are expected to become operational on September 1, shows data released on the internet site of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC). “The deadline expires on May 27, but documents could have been sent by post as well,” officials said.

Borislav Sarafov, Prosecutor from the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office of Cassation, submitted his candidacy for Head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office of Appeals. He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior with a degree in law. He is known for his activity related to the lawsuit against the Galevi brothers and for the investigation of the murder of the radio host Bobby Tsankov.

Procecutor Svetlozar Kostov, form the town of Burgas, submitted his candidacy for a position at the First Instance Prosecution. He was commissioned to the capital to work on the famous suit of the "Octopus" Group. Rossen Roussev, Acting Head of the District Court in the town of Haskovo, filed his documents for the position Chairman of the Specialized Court of Appeals. In addition to this position, he is running for a second term as Head of the Haskovo Regional Court. He is the person who sent to prison the Montenegrin drug trafficker Budimir Kujovic. Judge Stanimir Mirov from the Sofia District Court is candidate for the post Chairman of the Specialized Court of First Instance.
