Five companies compete for the right to conduct the techno-economic analysis for unit 7 of the Kozloduy NPP

Five firms have stated their interest in conducting the techno-economic analysis and choosing the location for the construction of Unit 7 of the Kozloduy NPP. These are the US Westinghouse (part of Toshiba), France's Areva, which is bidding both independently and in consortium with Mitsubishi, Bulgaria's Risk Engineering and Australia's Worley Parsons, architect of the Belene NPP project, reported public.bg.

Companies had till July 16 to submit their technical and price offers and then the approved candidates were supposed to enter negotiations with the state to settle contract details. After a review of the submitted offers, the companies were asked to make improvements. However, these are probably going to be discussed in September since August is a holiday period.
