Euromag: Sofia is the cheapest city for tourists in Europe

Sofia is the cheapest city for tourists in Europe, writes Russian magazine Euromag, summarising the ratings of cities. Its recent estimate is based on a comparison of prices of services - accommodation at a 4-star hotel, a glass of martini, a pizza and hiring a taxi for 8 km.

Bulgaria’s capital offers the most advantageous prices for transportation, entertainment, food and drinks. According to the estimates, merely €15 a day would suffice and this makes the city very attractive to tourists.

According to the above criteria, Paris is the most expensive city where a day’s stay will cost more than €303. This, however, does not prevent the French capital from being the most visited city, the publication notes.

According to Euromag, Florence is the perfect city for a holiday with small children and the capitals of Austria and Finland - Helsinki and Vienna - are the most comfortable to live in.

Berlin is the city with the best hotel services. UK’s capital London is most preferred by shopping fans. Stockholm tops the rating in terms of safety and Venice is the most romantic city. At the end of the list at the 67th place is Athens because of the ongoing protests in the Greek capital against the stabilisation programme imposed on the country.
