The price of the documents for technical inspections to be increased

The documents that will be issued after the annual technical inspections of vehicles will cost some extra BGN 3. So far, these were sold for BGN 3.70 and, now, drivers will have to pay BGN 6.60. The news was released yesterday after the presentation of the new system for the monitoring of annual technical inspections. Drivers will be given a new document - a certificate, where the findings of the inspections will be entered.

“Fictitious annual technical inspection of cars will be limited because now the inspections can be checked in real time,” said Minister of Transport Ivaylo Moscovski during the presentation of the system. The system will enable the inspectors from the Automobile Administration Executive Agency to monitor the work stations online and to carry out immediate on-site inspections in cases when they suspect irregularities. The new technology allows for more stringent control via automatically saving three photos of the vehicle. The technicians at the check points will be obliged to do manually a fourth photo of the vehicle with a distinctive registration number.

The system saves about 80% of the time that was needed for the registration of the vehicle, thus eliminating unnecessary red tape. An individual print for each specialist at the technical points is being introduced as well, which will increase personal responsibility. Higher penalties are to be imposed in cases of fictitious control, including the revocation of the right to carry out technical inspections.
