The Regional Governor of Burgas: Tenders for the beaches will be called only when there is declared interest

Beaches to be offered for concessioning, only when there is particular interest on the part of prospective tenants, offers Konstantin Grebenarov, Regional Governor of Burgas, quoted by the Bulgarian National Television.

According to him, the costs for conducting the tenders are very high. In the region of Burgas some 12 beaches will be offered at tenders, by the end of this month. The concession prices are expected to be about 50% lower than those from last year. There were no candidates for the management of the properties then. Grebenarov commented that not all of the beaches were attractive, so it was expected that most of them would not be leased.

Currently,  an interest has been declared towards the Vasiliko beach, in the town of Tsarevo, towards the beach of the Burgas district of Kraymorie and especially towards the central beach of Burgas, which last year was managed by the municipality. "By early May, the beaches should be concessioned," said Grebenarov. According to him, then after new auctions are not likely to be called, because neither the price will be lower or the conditions will be more attractive.
