Yanaki Stoilov to enter into the leadership battle for BSP chairman

I am not obsessed with any leadership claims, but I have political ambitions, stated yesterday the Chairman of the left-wing of the Bulgarian Socialist Party before the delegates of the Reporting and Election Conference of the fraction. In fact, Stoilov was re-elected for leader of the left-wing. "I do not say that I am the most appropriate BSP Chairman, but I think that I am the leader who most confidently and consistently has defended the left-wing character of the BSP party," reckoned Stoilov. He also added that he was not willing to enter the following scenario: ''When two people quarrel, a third rejoices''. So far the Reporting and Election Campaign has been held under the sign of the dilemma "Stanishev or Parvanov".

The left-wing of the Socialist Party did not officially take a stand in the BSP leadership battle between Parvanov and the current party Head. Stoilov himself pointed out that as long as the Party of the European Socialists was chaired by the current BSP Head, the Bulgarian Socialist Party would play an important role in the development of the European and Bulgarian leftist parties.

On Saturday, Georgi Parvanov was a guest at the Conference held in the town of Vratsa. "I want not only to be on good terms with Stanishev after the BSP Congress, but to be able to collaborate with him even more powerfully for the winning of the parliamentary elections," highlighted Parvanov before the delegates. With open voting, he and Stanishev were nominated in a common text for the post of BSP Chairman on behalf of the Vratsa socialists.
