Bulgaria is one of the world leaders on counterfeit packaging

"Bulgaria is at 6^th place in the world in terms of the counterfeit product packaging," stated at the opening of the Programme for Combating Fake Certificates, the Regional Director of the company 'Intertek-Moody Europe', Ivan Savov.
Some 10% of the Bulgarian market is covered with counterfeit fake products, which means that the Bulgarian traders and manufacturers are collaborating with those countries which produce counterfeit certificates and apparently Bulgaria is a part of the fraudulent chain, indicated Savov.
The most problematic sectors in our country are the cosmetics and toy markets. Ivan Savov stated that five percent of products worldwide are fake and almost all sectors are affected. In his words, the problem is not only financial, but largely affects the people's health. Savov noted that this requires the drafting of a coordinated global anti-counterfeiting programme initiated by Interpol. The highest amount of counterfeits was detected in the textile sector, particularly in terms of the branded clothing. Other sectors affected by the circulation of many counterfeit goods are the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industry and the toy market.
