Bulgarian Chamber of Shipping supports planned relocation the Maritime Administration Agency

The Bulgarian Chamber of Shipping (BCS) supports the planned relocation of the Executive Agency Maritime Administration to Varna, as a letter to the Council of Ministers declaring BCS's position revealed. The organization sees the change as an opportunity for further development of the maritime industry. BCS's statement not only urged for changes in the executive agency to go beyond relocation, but demanded legislative measures to reform the sector. A useful step in that direction would be a new bill for harbors.

Businesses represented by BCS said that the Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" will take less time and money to be relocated compared to the other administrations and the process will cause no operational disruptions. This restructuring provides an opportunity to streamline personnel and attract well-qualified maritime specialists.
