Social partners will gather to discuss the 2013 budget

“By the end of September, the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation will gather to discuss the 2013 budget,” Social Minister Totyu Mladenov said on Horizont radio. “The ministries are currently holding negotiations with the Finance Ministry on the 2013 budget. Branch structures of trade unions and employers have held negotiations on the minimum insurance levels. We are also ready with our new proposal on the size of the minimum wage. Therefore, I believe the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation will be convened by the end of this month,” said Mladenov.

The leader of the Confederation of Independent Trade Unions in Bulgaria (CITUB) Plamen Dimitrov, in turn, announced that a roundtable on the price of labour will be held on October 4. The Podkrepa Labour Confederation, Minister of Finance Simeon Djankov and other ministers, employers and representatives of the parliamentary social and budget committees will be invited to the event because the price of labour has been dramatically low for 22 years now, explained Dimitrov.

Dr. Konstantin Trenchev, leader of Podkrepa, said the syndicate’s worry was where the money for the wage increase would come from.
