MOEW announces the properties of NATURA 2000 and these are now excluded from bond auctions

All property of NATURA 2000 has been excluded from the auctions of land which can be bought with registered compensatory bills, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food announced. Information about plots has been submitted by the Ministry of Environment and Water to Miroslav Naydenov's Ministry.

MAF assured that there will be no chances in the way of lasting use and purpose in case there are other properties which have not been timely submitted and are part of the European ecological network. This was announced by Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Miroslav Naydenov after a meeting with representatives of the Coalition Let Nature Remain in Bulgaria. After verification, the MAF left about 50,000 acres out of the auctions. These are almost 70 meadows and grasslands within Natura 2000 and 6 protected areas, which have been found to be public property.

The deadline for accepting applications for participation in the auctions ended last week. A total of 608 applications were accepted for 115,000 acres, the Ministry of Agriculture announced. The greatest number of applications was submitted in Kardzhali - 203, because of the largest total area for sale - 15,500 acres. By orders of the Directors of Regional Offices, tender committees dealing with incoming documents have already been designated. They have fifteen days to consider the proposals.
