The Government proposes to limit the appointment of officials without competition

The Government charged the Council for Administrative Reform with the task of proposing measures to reduce the possibilities of appointing officials without competition. The task was assigned after the approval of a report on human resources management in the public sector, according to which the number of civil servants' appointments without competition is increasing.

The Council will have to review some texts in the Civil Service Law and propose concrete measures against this practice. The report states that, from August 2009 until now, employment in the public sector has decreased by nearly 14%, while wages have increased by 13%, after the entry into force of the new payment system for civil servants.
