PM Borissov: Politicians should be more moderate in their statements about ethnic hatred

Let politicians be more moderate in their statements about ethnic hatred, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov urged in his first comment to journalists, following Saturday's attack against now former leader of MRL Ahmed Dogan. He was attacked with a gas pistol by 25-year-old Oktay Enimehmedov during his speech at the Eighth Conference of the MRF party in Hall No. 3 of the NPC. Borissov condemned the attack and called the assassination attempt "incident" and expressed his firm opinion that such a weapon (a gas pistol with two signal cartridges and a pepper one) could not be life-threatening for Ahmed Dogan. Borissov said that he had not met personally Ahmed Dogan after the incident, but sent Tsvetanov and expressed his personal opinion about Dogan: "This is a politician who, for 22 years now, has been twisting all Bulgarians around his little finger, as well as all the media, of course. And even when he is withdrawing, he is doing it in such a way, so that he seem a lot stronger and a saint."

PM Borissov remains adamant that Dogan's withdrawal did not change GERB's desire to rule with a majority. He also dismissed all speculations about a possible broad coalition.

DPS will insist on an international investigation of the attempted assassination of MRF's leader Ahmed Dogan, new chairman of MRF Lyutvi Mestan said. He was elected with a 100% support. Only ten hours later, this thesis was replaced outrageously," emphasised Mestan. According to him, the attempt to replace the truth is shocking. We want the people who ordered this assassination to be investigated, but we are not confident that they will be found, because they will not be searched for, Lyutvi Mestan noted.
