A total of 137 victims of labour exploitation are identified in 2012

A total of 137 victims of labour exploitation were identified in 2012, said Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov, who participated in the launch of the Zero Tolerance towards Human Trafficking campaign. The identified victims include 113 men and 24 women, Tsvetanov explained.

Asked whether actions will be taken to legalise prostitution in Bulgaria, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said: "I will definitely not support the legalisation of sexual exploitation, i.e. prostitution, in the country - either as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, or as a public figure and a politician." About $32 bn are generated by human trafficking annually. Some 80% of all victims of trafficking have been subjected to sexual exploitation, since it brings huge profits. Other victims of trafficking have been subjected to labour exploitation in which most of the victims are men, while women who became victims are aged between 40 and 50 and are mostly enticed with offers of taking care of elderly people abroad.
