Bulgaria deputy minister: Financial resources under RDP for 2015 reimbursed in March

Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Vasil Grudev made comments Monday, speaking at a press conference, FOCUS News Agency reported.
The official referred to information announced by the media the payment of nearly BGN 1.1 billion (some EUR 550 million) Bulgaria was to receive for already realised projects under the Rural Development Programme (RDP) for 2015 was suspended.
In Grudev’s words, the speculation about the BGN 1.1 billion in question is another publication containing various “bombastic” figures on EU programmes.
“We organised this press conference with the only aim of not fuelling speculation that is totally untrue and has nothing to do with reality. The financial resources paid last year were reimbursed in March, and the sum is EUR 552 million. EUR 183 million is not to be reimbursed this year as this is an advance payment dating back to 2008, i.e. it was already received,” the deputy minister stated.
According to Vasil Grudev, these are the “objective figures”.
He asked the ministry is approached over any emerging speculation.
