Menda Stoyanova, CEDB: Serious GDP growth of 2.9% reported for the first quarter

Statistics indicate serious GDP growth of 2.9% for the first quarter of the year. That is what MP with mandate-holder Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) and chairperson of the Budget and Finance Committee Menda Stoyanova said for Radio FOCUS.
According to her, usually in the first quarter of the year is recorded the weakest growth.
"I think right now the financial and economic situation of our country is good," Menda Stoyanova said.
According to her, in terms of finances, Bulgaria has never been in better condition.
“For five months we report no deficit, and a surplus of the consolidated budget, which is mainly due to higher revenues from EU funds which are refunded, but the most important are the bigger tax revenues and social security contributions, which are maintaining a sustainable level," the financier said.
“Of course we cannot expect these surpluses to remain in those dimensions," Menda Stoyanova said.
