Minister of agriculture: 16% growth in peach crop reported in 2016

 “We report 16% growth in the peach crop for 2016 compared with the previous year, which is due to the increased cultivated terrains.”
This is what Minister of Agriculture and Food Desislava Taneva said at the opening of the 15th Golden Peach holiday in the village of Gavrailovo, district of Sliven (Southeastern Bulgaria), the press office of the ministry announced.
Desislava Taneva explained that with the proposed changes to the tied aid schemes peach producers remained in the group of the fruits with highest assistance.
“We introduced modulated stake for the tied aid and all small and medium farms will receive higher stake per decare under proven crop. This will bring higher revenues for the producers and more Bulgarian products at the market,” Minister Taneva commented further. 
She stressed that Bulgaria reported growth in all sectors of agricultural production.
Ms Taneva informed that over the past two years the number of the producers’ association had increased seriously – from 8 to 34.
