Sofia residents look for jobs in manufacturing and construction

The most sought after jobs in Sofia and the region are in spheres of construction and architecture (14.67%), manufacturing (14.16%), administration (12.39%), transport and logistics (8.27%), services (6.95%), marketing and retail (5.93%), showed an analysis of Buljobs.bg, a search engine for vacant jobs in the private and public sectors. The data is based on statistics from the specialised website for job search in Sofia, www.sofiajobs.com.

At the same time, the most numerous vacant working positions in Sofia and the region are in the sectors of information technology and telecommunications for software developers and maintenance engineers, marketing and retail – for marketing and retail consultants, sales representatives, financial consultants, retail assistants and cashiers. Hairdressers, manicurists, household cleaners and baby-sitters are also sought.

The survey shows that the most sought after jobs in Bulgaria are those of shop assistants and sales representatives (7.95%), drivers (6.41%), construction workers (6.04%), baby-sitters (2.98%) and engineers (2.37%). Employees least sought are for the sectors of Insurance, Tourism and Entertainment, Print, Media and Arts, Engineering and Architecture and Accounting. There are almost no vacant working positions in the Marketing and Advertising, Law and Security sectors.

“Mondays appeared to be the days of the week when jobs were most actively sought in the September 2009 - April 2011 period and the busiest hours were between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. During the holidays, job-searching activities decreased by half,” specified Deyan Sultov, Managing Partner in Buljobs.bg.
