“…Her palette of vocal and acting abilities is inexhaustible…”

Special guest on the occasion of 30th anniversary of the National Palace of Culture -NPC is a world famous mezzo-soprano Vesselina Katsarova that make specific changes in their packed calendar of commitments to come to Bulgaria for the closure of the 16th "Salon des Arts" on June 25 at 19.00 in Hall 1.

Her partners on stage are musicians from the National Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Emil Tabakov. Katsarova will perform arias from "Tanred" of Rossini, and whether the aria of "Samson and Delilah," Saint-Saens and of course, Carmen Bizet. Especially for the 30th anniversary of the NPC bulgarian composer Georgi Kostov wrote cycle "Five Folk Songs for girls beauties" for voice and orchestra, three of them - "Grozdana", "Katerina Mome" and "Petruno" will be performed by Vesselina Katsarova.

Katsarova spontaneously said in an interview: "Singing must come from the heart and brain together, and it must come automatically. If you have to make emotion, think about it, it's not pure. Music is emotion, and it's never the same; the dress rehearsal may be one way, and the opening night another. When you sing well, the way you feel comes out in the voice. " - (Oct 1997 interview with Bryan Miller for the Chicago Tribune)

Vesselina Katsarova lives and works in Switzerland singing in the greatest opera stages around the world - Vienna Opera, Covent Garden in London, Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris, Florence, Chicago, Edinburgh, Salzburg, Japan ... The list is long. The stage partners of Vesselina Katsarova are remarkable artists. Unfortunately, her work with Herbert von Karajan who died a week after he approved her for participation in the B-minor Mass by J. S. Bach remains unrealized.

Among the conductors she worked with are Sir Colin Davies, Claudio Abbado, Riccardo Muti, Daniel Barenboim, William Steinberg, Nikolaus Harnoncourt. She is in the highly paid mezzo-sopranos top-list.

The singer is born in Stara Zagora - the city of lindens and opera stars. Among them shine names, such as: Hristina Morfova, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Vesselina Katsarova. The world's Number one mezzo-soprano always returns to her roots. She gave a charity concert for the opera house reconstruction in her native Stara Zagora.

Vesselina Katsarova shares: "For me, the roots are the human being's soul and nature, this is childhood, and they must be safeguarded!" Don't miss this return, take delight in her art! A singer in front of a Journalist said: "I'm always trying to learn from Edita (Gruberova). One important lesson I learned from her is that dramatic singing doesn't mean loud and fast; rather, it comes out through expression and variety of colors. In the first place, she asks any conductor to have the orchestra play piano whenever possible, so that meaningful crescendos can be obtained at the right moments. "- (Jul 2002 interview with Carlo Vitali for Andante Magazine)

The National Palace of Culture offers to the admirers an unforgettable night of music with the Bulgarian diva that fascinated the world! The exaggerations are many that music critics rain on her: “…Vesselina Katsarova is the most exciting young singer on the international stage now. A mezzo-soprano that emerges once a generation, but only if we are lucky…” (Examiner, San Francisco, 1997)
