GERB government approves schemes for national additional payments

Yesterday, the government of Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria approved the schemes for national additional payments 2011 for agricultural producers.
The extra payment per hectare of agricultural land (excluding the areas with wine grape vineyards, strawberries and raspberries for processing, tobacco and permanent pastures) will amount to BGN 310 mln. Based on the annual average quantity of purchased high-quality (1-3 class) tobacco by variety groups in the period 2007-2009, the amount of the financial aid will stand at the maximum of BGN 73 mln. Additional national payments worth up to BGN 71mln will be allocated for cattle-breeding activities. These EU grants will be transferred to the farmers, who have more than 10 cattles or buffalos or 50 ewes and goat mothers as of February 28, 2009.

Meanwhile, the State Fund Agriculture announced that since the beginning of the year grants amounting to €434 mln under the Rural Development Programme had been approved.
