Sova Harris Research Agency: Nikolay Mladenov and Tsvetan Tsvetanov are the top rated politicians

The best-performing politicians are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikolay Mladenov (winning 39% of the public approval) as well as Interior Minsiter, Tsvetan Tsvetanov (having 35% of the public approval), according to the results of the survey posted yesterday by Sova Harris Sociological Agency, conducted between January 3 - 10. The Top 5 best-performing politicians of the GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) government also include Agriculture Minister, Miroslav Naydenov (28%), the Minister of Culture, Vezhdi Rashidov (27%) as well as the Ministers of Economy, Traicho Traikov and of Education, Sergey Ignatov along with the Sports Minister, Svilen Neykov (all three winning 26 % of the public approval).

The efforts of the Deputy PM and Finance Minister, Simeon Djankov to maintain the fiscal discipline was assessed as successful by 20% of respondents, which figure is by 2 per cent higher than the one of the similar study from December 2010. There is precisely the same approval rate for the Minister of Labour, Totyu Mladenov, who last year repeatedly entered into disputes with with Djankov.

The least approval rate (16%) received the Minister of Health, Stefan Konstantinov as well as the Minister of Transport, Ivaylo Moscovski. According to sociologists, the rating of Doctor Konstantinov was influenced by the overall assessment of the health reform progress, while Moscovski's low rating was degraded by the railway strike.

As a whole, some 38% of the people shared their satisfaction from the activities of the GERB government, showed the survey of Sova Harris. Approximately 30% of the Bulgarian citizens were of the opinion that the GERB Cabinet fails to cope well with the state government, although it achieved some success.

Nearly 40% of the respondents have confidence in the ruling GERB party. In contrast, around one half of the Bulgarian population is of the opposite opinion, according to the survey.
