Bulgarian Posts sells its property at the National Palace of Culture

Yesterday Bulgarian Posts JSC was given the right to sell its post office in the subway of the National Palace of Culture with a government decision. The station has been neglected and has not operated for years.

The property is of about 330 sq m. and the price is set at around €480,000, according to the latest assessment. "We will start to prepare the tender procedure, following the decision of the Council of Ministers,” explained experts from the company.

In the coming weeks, the company mangers expect the Government to launch the sale of the unfinished distribution centre at the Central Railways Station, posted Mediapool. This will be another attempt of the managers to sell the company's three-story building, the construction of which was finally cancelled in 1999. It was decided then that the distribution centre for letters and parcels would be located in the district of Vrazhdebna. The total built up area of the building is 15,000 sq m.

The Government approved the sale of 18 military properties in Varna, Ruse, Samokov, Sandanski, Pleven, Balchik and Chirpan as well.

In addition, the Government granted to the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo the management of church "Sv. 40 Muchenitzi", built in 1230 and of the Mausoleum and Ossuary in the city for a period of 10 years. Both religious buildings are part of the so-called Great Lavra in Veliko Tarnovo, which has been managed by the Ministry of Culture so far. The idea of the municipal management is for the cultural monuments to be promoted and included in the cultural calendar of the Municipality in order to become one of the major tourist attractions of the city.

The Municipality of Burgas received several public properties for free management for a period of five years. These are located in the district of Sarafovo and fall within the area of the fishing harbour. The municipal government will apply for a grant under the Operational Programme for Fisheries and Aquaculture for the implementation of a project targeting the reconstruction and modernization of the port.
