Plevneliev: The referendum will be held on January 27, 2013

President Rosen Plevneliev decided that January 27, 2013 will be the date for holding the first national referendum in the democratic history of the country, the Head of State Press Secretariat announced. Pursuant to Art. 98, item 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Bulgaria, Decision ХLI of the National Assembly for holding a national referendum, adopted on October 24, 2012 and promulgated in SG. 83 of October 30, 2012, and Art. 14 of the Law for Direct Participation of Citizens in Government and Local Government, President Rossen Plevneliev decided that January 27, 2013 will be the date for holding a national referendum on the question: "Should nuclear energy be developed in Bulgaria by building a new nuclear power plant?".
