Bulgaria wants to participate in the environmental assessment of the Turkish TPP near Rezovo

The Ministry of Environment and Water will ask to participate with an opinion and a position in the environmental impact assessment which will be made in Turkey in connection with the construction of a power plant in the town of Igneada near Rezovo. This was announced on Thursday near the village of Bratovo, Bourgas region, by Minister of Environment and Water Nona Karadjova. Karadjova said that her ministry has prepared a formal letter to the Turkish state. The letter will be sent through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Another demand in the document will be for the Turkish side to provide access to information on the project for the construction of a TPP near Rezovo. Last week, it became clear that a Turkish private company wants to build a power plant in the town of Igneada which will work with imported coal and a capacity of 1,200 MW. At present, the application of the firm is under examination by the Office of Energy Market Regulation.
