Bulgaria to look for Chinese investors in mechanical and power engineering

Mechanical and power engineering are priority areas for cooperation between Bulgaria and China, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Delian Dobrev stated on his visit to Shanghai. At the meeting with Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology, Miao Wei, Dobrev pointed out again Bulgaria's competitive advantages - low taxes, financial stability and a good geographical position, the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism (MEET) announced.

The two Ministers agreed on programmes for cooperation between companies in China and Bulgaria. During his visit, Dobrev also had a meeting with China's Vice Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan, who expressed the support of the Chinese Government for expanding investment of local companies in Bulgaria, as well as the willingness of the Chinese side to work with the Bulgarian Government for the establishment of an industrial zone in the country. The establishment of industrial zones and technological development activities in our country also create a scope for better co-operation between Bulgaria and China, Dobrev said, mentioning as an example the industrial zone in Bozhurishte and Sofia Tech Park. According to him, electronics, machinery, automotive engineering, outsourcing, etc. are promising areas for attracting Chinese investment in Bulgaria. Minister Dobrev is on a visit to Shanghai for the opening of the forum Invest in Bulgaria, which is part of a series of investment conferences organised by InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA). The project started at the beginning of the year and forums have already been organised in London, Munich, Brussels, Paris, Dubai and Moscow. After China, investment opportunities will also be presented in Tokyo and San Francisco.
