Port Burgas launches Black Sea Cruises at the world exhibition in Marseille

Port Burgas representatives are to launch Black Sea Cruises, a new tourist destination, along with the Public Access Zone project at the international exhibition Seatrade Med Cruise Convention 2012. The event will take place from November 27 to 29 at the Marseille showroom. Bulgaria was invited to participate in the specialised exhibition during a meeting between Ivo Marinov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism, and the Mayor of the French town Jean-Claude Gaudin on January 27. Marinov was on a work visit in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur.

The Black Sea region partners (Port Odessa and Port Constanta) and representatives of the cruise sector from all over the world will also be attending. The organisers of the event have made arrangements for meetings with some of the biggest international cruise operators like Royal Caribbean Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Pullmantur Cruises and Azamara Cruises, creating an excellent platform for business communication.

The implementation of the project Public Access Zone, or Super Burgas, part of the Great Plan for Burgas Port Development, is currently in its first stage – up to four berths. On November 21, 2012, the Board of Directors of Port Burgas JSC approved the investment plan for Yacht Service Zone of terminal Burgas East 1, part of Marina Port Burgas. It involves designing berths, outlining technical specifications and an estimate of works and materials. The Marina will be situated along the pier front at a zero berth space 150 metres long, 7 metres deep, with pontoons for 60 vessels. The three projects represent an opportunity to make the transition between planning and construction, while doing what is necessary to complete them simultaneously. The goal is for this to happen a month before the first scheduled cruise ship Celebrity Constellation arrives on October 5, 2013.
