Yuliana Ivanova to be head of SEWRC

Yuliana Ivanova is the new Chairperson of the State Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (SEWRC), PM Boyko Borissov announced on Wednesday before the Government’s meeting.

Yuliana Ivanova was presented to the members of the Cabinet by Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Evgeniya Haritonova. “Ms. Ivanova is an engineer with long-time experience in foreign companies, among these RWE - one of the leading energy companies not only in Europe but in the world. She played a decisive role in the introduction of RWE to Bulgaria, Haritonova explained to her colleagues.

PM Borissov gave the new head of the energy watchdog 20 days of vote of confidence.

Yuliana Ivanova graduated in Nuclear Power Engineering from the Technical University in Sofia. Upon completion of her higher education she was appointed technical assistant at the university’s New Technology Laboratory for Burning Low-grade Coal. She worked as an office manager at Maritsa Iztok JSC and as director of ACE Ltd (the representation of Fichtner GbmH in Bulgaria). Over the last nine years, she was adviser and representative of Bulgaria at RWE Power and RWE AG. Ms. Ivanova is fluent in German and English. She is a member of the Bulgarian-German forum.
