The exact number of all members of syndicates and employer organisations to be established

“The exact number of all the members of syndicates and employer organisations, participating in the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation, will be established,” Social Minister Totyu Mladenov said today. The procedure is necessary because of the new requirements for the representation of social partners, recently introduced by amendments to the Labour Code. The entire procedure is expected to last about six months and will be followed by a decision of the Council of Ministers. “The meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation planned for today has been postponed for next week,” added Mladenov.

The Social Minister also mentioned the launch of two new schemes under Operational Programme Human Resources Development, with a total budget of nearly BGN 70 mln, oriented towards businesses and active employers. The Qualification and Training of Employees - Phase 3 scheme, with a budget of BGN 34 mln, will provide professional qualification and key competencies to people employed in micro-, small-, medium- and large-sized enterprises. Employers, training organisations and institutions, as well as social and economic partners in their capacity as employers, will be eligible to apply under this scheme until May 31, 2012. The total budget of the other scheme - Qualification and Encouragement of Employment - is BGN 35,149,758. It is aimed at increasing the competitiveness of individuals, registered as unemployed at Labour Offices. Its priority will be to encourage the recruitment of people from vulnerable groups in professional skills trainings and provide opportunities for respective professional experience. Applications under this scheme will be accepted by the end of April.
