President Plevneliev enjoys the greatest approval among all politicians in January, the Institute of Modern Politics announced

President Rosen Plevneliev was the most popular politician in January, who enjoyed the confidence of 47.6% of the participants in the study. This was announced by political scientist Emil Georgiev while he was presenting the results of a national survey conducted by the sociological team at the Institute of Modern Politics regarding social and political attitudes in the country in January 2013.

The survey was conducted between January 13 and January 21, 2013 and involved 981 adult respondents.

According to Georgiev, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov ranked second, with 38.8% favourable votes, followed by BSP's leader Sergey Stanishev, with a 23.7% approval. The results of the survey for January reported a decline in the confidence in President Plevneliev, who, in December, received 51.67% positive votes, Georgiev said, adding that Meglena Kuneva was the politician who retained a high percentage of neutral attitudes with a score of 34.5%.

MRF's Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan was the most disliked politician in January - 74.1% of respondents gave their negative vote. He is followed by Ivan Kostov with 66.8% negative votes.

Leader of the political party Ataka, Volen Siderov, was disliked by 62.2% of the respondents and ranked last in the top 3 most disliked politicians in the country in early 2013.

Some 39% of eligible voters in Bulgaria are adamant that they will exercise their right to vote in the upcoming parliamentary elections in July.

If the elections were held today, parties would receive the following results: 24.8% - GERB, 19.3% - BSP, 5.5% - MRF, 4.8% - Bulgaria for Citizens Movement, 2.7% - OLJ with Mareshki and 2.7% - Ataka.
