If elections are held today, 6 parties would enter Parliament

If parliamentary elections were held today, 6 parties would enter the National Assembly, according to the results of a national survey, commissioned by the Institute of Modern Politics and conducted among 1,000 adult residents. The study shows that, besides GERB, BSP and MRF, Parliament would also have deputies of the Movement Bulgaria for Citizens, Ataka and OLJ.

GERB and BSP gained relatively similar rates - 26% and 21%, respectively, followed by DPS with 4.9% and Meglena Kuneva’s Bulgaria for Citizens Movement with 4.3%. Ataka and OLJ gained 3.6% and 1.9% of the vote, respectively, bearing in mind that these percentages were calculated based on the number of all respondents and not just those who would vote in the elections.

President Rosen Plevneliev enjoys the highest approval among citizens - 59.9%, followed by Prime Minister Boyko Borissov - 48.3%, and Lilyana Pavlova - 43.4%.

Sergey Stanishev has the approval of 33.7% of the voters and Meglena Kuneva - 38.2%. Ahmed Dogan is still the most unpopular politician, disliked by 72.4%. MRF's leader is favoured by 8% of the respondents.

Ivan Kostov is also among disapproved of politicians with a 62.2% negative vote, followed by Yane Yanev with a 61.2% disapproval. Simeon Djankov is not among Bulgarians' favourite politicians either, with a 58.4% disapproval and a 20.3% approval. UDF's leader Emil Kabaivanov is liked only by 3.5%, while 16.4% don't like him. The survey shows that people tend to consider BSP a party of pensioners and GERB - a militia party. Meglena Kuneva's party has the best chances to find voters among mothers.

According to the survey, more than two-thirds of Bulgarians consider corruption a very big problem and over 90% of respondents indicated that healthcare is the sphere with the most widespread corruption.
