President Rosen Plevneliev: Track set by Government, President for Bulgarian foreign policy should not be directed against anyone

“The track that the Government and the President set for the Bulgarian foreign policy is not directed against anyone, we are not conducting such kind of a policy.”
This is what President Rosen Plevneliev said speaking at an extraordinary briefing at the President’s Office, FOCUS News Agency reporter said.
“We should stop the speculations on something that has not been said. It is about a regional initiative. It will be legitimate only within NATO, only if everyone participates. The matter in point concerns the first stage of naval drills and exercises,” the Bulgarian Head of State commented further.
“The truth is that there is not enough clarity; the truth is that there is much of work ahead, each of the states should say its word and, of course, this is a long and complex process,” the President stressed.
“When statements about fleets against Russia are swept over the Bulgarian nation, I beg you to be responsible because this is what is characteristic about the Bulgarian foreign policy – it is responsible. It cannot be changed overnight, we want to be a good neighbour to everyone, we are conducting balanced foreign policy, we support the international legal order and we are seeking the legitimacy of the international institutions,” Rosen Plevneliev remarked.
The President called for putting an end to the unnecessary speculations.
