Bulgaria President: Let’s not abandon ambition to be among leading food producers in world

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev inaugurated Monday a new factory for processing and canning fruits in the town of Letnitsa, district of Lovech, the press centre of the President’s Office announced.
The factory is owned by Bulgaria Foods.
“Bulgaria is a traditional producer of foods for the whole world and we should not abandon the ambition to be among the best in this field,” the official said, speaking at the ceremony.
“Bulgarian foods are a symbol of high quality and big demand all around the world. I am certain Bulgarian producers will take good positions on markets like Central and East Asia, which are quite promising, in the long term,” the head of state opined.
He recalled world famous company that manufactures climbing walls Walltopia also has a manufacturing facility in the town.
“Let us speak about these examples of innovation and successful development,” Rosen Plevneliev urged after congratulating the company’s management and employees.
The company was founded in 1992 and has the ambition to turn into one of the five biggest industrial producers of frozen products in Bulgaria in the years to come.
It is expected the capacity of the new factory will reach 5,000 tonnes per year.
It is envisaged some 400 new jobs will be opened in Letnitsa and the region.
