Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev: Road to Europe’s future goes through high-quality education

 “Today, Bulgaria and Europe’s future is not decided at the battle field but at the classrooms and this is where the solution of the problems can be found, too. Bulgaria’s future does not depend on who our opponents are and whom we are going to conduct hybrid, propaganda or any other war with. Our future depends on who we are and what we want and how ambitious we are to establish it on our own, instead of simply following someone else’s decisions.”
This is what Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev said speaking at the opening of the Citizens' Dialogue initiative organised in the town of Gabrovo on Monday, the press centre of the President’s Office announced.
The debate is themed Europe: What's next? The forum is attended by Tomislav Donchev, Deputy Prime Minister for European Funds and Economic Policies; Markku Markkula, President of the European Committee of the Regions; MEPs Paunova and Andrey Novakov; Ognian Zlatev, Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Bulgaria. 
“There is record-high number of crises in Europe today. That is why, when it is hard and when it is difficult, we should be open for debate. Nowadays, Europe cannot be an “island of stability” in the world ocean of instability,” the Bulgarian Head of State remarked. 
Mr Plevneliev was explicit that each investment in the future should have its innovative ecosystem in Bulgaria, too. 
“With the term ecosystem I mean common actions of the business, the NGOs, the institutions, the government, and the local powers,” Rosen Plevneliev pointed out. 
In his statement Mr Plevneliev outlined the information and communication technologies, food production and the industries connected with human healthcare, as the fields Bulgaria should be among the leaders in.
