Rosen Plevneliev is the most questioned Minister in Parliament

The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Rosen Plevneliev, is and remains the record- holder in terms of the number of responses to questions and interpellations on the part of MPs he has answered – a total of 241 during the two years of operation of the 41st National Assembly.

During the last session of Parliament alone, from May 2 to July 29, Plevneliev answered 35 questions. The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Miroslav Naydenov occupies the second position in the ranking. He answered 213 questions, out of which 23 - in the last session. The two deputy Prime Ministers Simeon Djankov and Tsvetanov were naturally obliged to answer a lot of questions during the days of parliamentary control. The Minister of Finance Djankov replied to 187 questions (25 in the last session) and Minister of Interior Tsvetanov – to 167 (28 in the last session).

Prime Minister Boyko Borissov responded to 14 questions and interpellations during the last session and since the opening of the 41st National Assembly - to a total of 49 questions and 45 interpellations.

Since assuming the mandate, the MPs from the Parliamentary Group of GERB (Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria) have addressed a total of 98 questions and 27 interpellations. The left-wing parties were most active with 948 questions and 189 interpellations, and the Blue Coalition comes next with 494 questions and 37 interpellations. The independent MPs addressed 74 questions and 54 interpellations.

Meanwhile, after yesterday's meeting of the Council of Ministers, it was reported that the Government's legislative programme includes a total of 68 bills, scheduled for the second half of 2011. Out of these, 18 are drafts of new laws and the rest are amendments to the existing ones.
