Mandate-holder CEDB proposes presidential elections to be held on November 6-13

Mandate-holder Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB) proposes for the presidential elections in Bulgaria to be held on November 6 or November 13.
Tsvetan Tsvetanov, Deputy Chairperson of the CEDB, announced the news on Wednesday, FOCUS News Agency journalist reported.
“I raised the issue at the chairpersons’ council today and presented the date proposed by the CEDB, which attracted support by all parliamentary groups, except for the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP). We are also waiting for the position of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF),” Mr Tsvetanov explained.
“As you know, the preparation for elections follows certain chronogram of 60 days,” the politician said further.
He also recalled that the general practice was to hold the presidential elections, when organised independently and not in parallel with other polls, in November.
Commenting on the accusations of the socialists, who said that the CEBD wanted to postpone the elections in order to go on a holiday in August, Mr Tsvetanov said they were ungrounded.
Commenting on another claim of the BSP – that the CEDB wanted to hold the elections in November so as to distract the attention from the adoption of the state budget for next year, Tsvetan Tsvetanov said: “The committee is working, there is absolutely no problem connected with violating the budget procedure. I guess the budget will be adopted in the end of November, as usual.”
